# 2. Set up your Personal Agent

> Configure your private AI work surface, tools, approvals, activity, and memory.

Your Personal Agent is your private coworker inside the company workspace. Its credentials, preferences, approval queue, activity, and personal Emberbase are isolated from Team Agents and other members.

## Do this

Choose **Show me** in the mission banner. The walkthrough opens the real configuration panel, highlights the purpose field, and waits for you to leave the field so the automatic save can run.

1. Open **My agent**.
2. Choose **Customize agent**.
3. Add one useful preference, responsibility, or working boundary.
4. Connect one personal account only if the agent needs it for your work.
5. Give the agent a real task that uses the new context.

Example preference:

```text theme={null}
For status updates, lead with decisions and blockers. Keep the summary under 150 words.
```

## Know what is private

| Personal surface     | Meaning                                                                          |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Personal connections | Accounts and credentials available only to your Personal Agent. |
| Personal Emberbase | Preferences and context that should not enter company or team knowledge. |
| Activity | Recent work, incoming agent messages, and items that need your reply. |
| Approvals | Consequential connected-app actions parked for your allow-once or deny decision. |

## Handle an approval

When an approval appears:

1. Open the review details.
2. Confirm the exact tool, target, arguments, and expected effect.
3. Choose **Approve** only for the displayed action. Approval is not a blanket permission for later calls.
4. Choose **Reject** when the action, account, target, or timing is wrong.

Automatic review may allow safe boundary actions without interrupting you. Higher-risk or ambiguous actions stay paused until a human decides.

## You are done when

The checklist marks **Set up your Personal Agent** as done after your active Personal Agent has meaningful configuration.
