# Connect Slack

> Install SuperEmber in Slack and start delegating from team chat.

Slack is the primary self-serve channel for SuperEmber.

## What Slack Enables

After installation, SuperEmber can:

* receive mentions in channels where it has access
* respond in channels and direct messages
* keep setup tied to the Slack workspace selected during OAuth
* use Slack as the context surface for delegation, questions, approvals, and results
* assign a team Main channel for visible delegation operation threads and escalation

## Connect Slack

1. Sign in to SuperEmber.
2. Open **Connect**.
3. Choose **Add to Slack**.
4. Select the Slack workspace where your team works.
5. Approve the OAuth install.
6. Return to SuperEmber and confirm Slack shows as connected.
7. Mention SuperEmber in Slack.

## What To Ask First

Start with a concrete request:

```text theme={null}
@SuperEmber summarize this thread and list open decisions.
```

Then move to action-oriented requests:

```text theme={null}
@SuperEmber draft the follow-up message and ask me before posting it.
```

For repeatable work, ask for a workflow:

```text theme={null}
@SuperEmber turn this weekly status process into a workflow with an approval before it posts.
```

## Workspace Binding

Slack is connected through OAuth. The binding is explicit: the SuperEmber account is tied to the selected Slack workspace.

If you reconnect, create a fresh approval from the connect screen. The old channel can keep working until the new account completes the approved code or OAuth flow.

## Microsoft Teams Status

Microsoft Teams is visible as a preview/admin-install surface. It is not documented as the default self-serve setup path. If your workspace has Teams access, follow the instructions provided in your app or by your SuperEmber contact.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom                                          | What to check                                                                           |
| ------------------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Slack is not available on the connect screen | Your account may not have the Slack rollout flag or provisioning may still be running. |
| OAuth opens but install fails | Confirm you have permission to install Slack apps in that workspace. |
| SuperEmber does not answer | Confirm the app is installed, invited to the channel if needed, and mentioned directly. |
| The dashboard says the agent is still setting up | Wait for provisioning to complete, then refresh the connect page. |
